Add Curb Appeal to Your Home This Spring

You may have read my post about curb appeal from a couple years ago. If not, you can find it here. I am obsessed with ideas for creating a beautiful home! Curb appeal is one of the most important factors to selling your home. Or, if you are like me, you want to come home to a pretty house every day.

In addition to my previous ideas, I am sharing 10 ways to boost your home's curb appeal this spring.

1. Upgrade exterior lighting. Adding landscape lighting to the front yard can make a huge difference to the way your home looks at night - plus it will look great if your realtor takes twilight photos for the listing! Backyard lighting doesn't hurt either. Watch this video for a DIY project!

2. Replace the mailbox. So simple and easy! You can get mailboxes for relatively cheap at Home Depot or Lowes.

3. Install Shutters. One of my favorite upgrades to a home! The best part about them is you can choose whatever color and style you want. Choose them to go with the style of your home, or just your personal preference!

4. Add Greenery. Such a gorgeous way to easily add curb appeal to any home! You don't even necessarily need flowers - just add some beautiful green shrubs and plants.

5. Replace old windows. My sister recently did this in a home they bought and wow, what a difference! Buyers appreciate the upgrade PLUS they are so much more energy efficient.

6. Add a unique house number design. So many to choose from! Design a rustic one yourself, or you can order for less than $50 on Wayfair, which is what we did on hour house.

7. Add faux brick or stone. It's not super expensive, and even a small amount can make a huge difference! I love the style of the house below - it makes the house look like it's in Europe!

8. Install new garage doors. Not only do new doors look great and do wonders to the look of your home, installing new doors was listed in Money magazine last year as the #1 way to add value to your home. According to their article, "The all-in cost of replacing an outdated garage door with an upscale steel model boosts your home’s value by 98.3% of what it costs to install. In other words, a $3,470 garage door will really set you back only $60 when you put your house on the market."
These carriage style garage doors are my favorite!

9. Enhance the porch. One of my all-time favorites of Joanna Gaines - she is always upgrading the front porch on the homes she works on. It's such a beautiful way to add value and curb appeal to any home!

10. Wash the windows. This little thing can make such an impact! Clear, clean windows look so much nicer than seeing all the dirt and grime that has built up over the winter.

As usual, contact me with questions or input! I would love to hear your ideas or the way you have boosted your home's curb appeal.
